The City of Sheridan is rich in history. It was founded by Absolem B. Faulconer and was often referred to as “A. B. Faulconer’s Town.” Eventually, Faulconer named the town after Civil War General Phil Sheridan. The city was incorporated by an act of the Oregon Legislature, signed by Governor W. W. Thayer, on October 26, 1880.
